Bobby Gene Wells
Bobby Gene Wells 89, a Member of Post 1990 for over 65 years left our order on June 7th, 2023.

In 1953, Bobby volunteered to serve in the United States Army where he was later stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return home, he joined the Greeneville Police Department in 1957, where he was later promoted to Lieutenant, a position he held until his retirement in 1981.

Dennis Whitmer
Dennis Edward Whitmer, “Grande” to all who knew him, age 54, a Life Member of VFW Post 1990 and Greeneville's U.S. Military Vets Motorcycle Club, left our order at the Johnson City Veterans’s Hospital on September 30, 2021 due to Covid complications. “Grande” served in the United States Marine Corp from 1986-1990.
Chester Talmadge Walters, 96 of Ashland, VA, a Post 1990 Life member, left our order on July 5th, 2021, He was born and reared in Greene County.

As a Marine, he served as a carrier-based fighter pilot during World War II and as a M.A.S.H helicopter rescue pilot in Korea where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

James "JR" Burgner
James “JR” Burgner 89 of Chuckey, a Life Member of Post 1990, left our Order on Friday January 22nd, 2021. J.R. was a veteran of the U.S. Army. who served for 20 years. JR served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. After military retirement, he returned overseas twice as a helicopter mechanic.
